Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

Graduate/Post graduate in with at least 60% marks, from any UGC recognised institution. Please note that, the stream as per the post for which candidate is applying.

Stage 1:

Online Objective Test

1. Reasoning

Logical Reasoning, Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, Syllogism, Blood Relations, Direction Sense, Coding-Decoding, Input-Output, Statement and Assumptions, Cause and Effect, Decision Making, Analytical Reasoning.

2. English Language

Reading Comprehension, Error Spotting, Sentence Correction, Fill in the Blanks, Para Jumbles, Cloze Test, Synonyms and Antonyms, Idioms and Phrases, Sentence Rearrangement, Grammar Usage.

3. Quantitative Aptitude

Simplification and Approximation, Data Interpretation, Profit and Loss, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Number Series, Simple and Compound Interest, Probability, Permutations and Combinations, Averages, Mixtures and Allegations.

4. General Awareness

Current Affairs (National and International), Indian Economy, Financial Awareness, Insurance Awareness, Government Schemes, Banking and Finance Updates, Static GK (Capitals, Currencies, Important Days, International Organizations), Awards and Honors.

Descriptive Test

1. Essay Writing

Topics on Insurance Sector, Financial Inclusion, Economic Reforms, Banking and Insurance in India, Digitalization in Insurance, Role of Technology in Finance.

2. Letter Writing

Formal Letters, Business Correspondence, Complaint Letters, Grievance Redressal Letters.

Stage 2: Group Discussion and Interview

1. Group Discussion: Topics on current affairs, social issues, economic trends, insurance and banking sector trends.

Exam Pattern:

The UPSC CAPF 2025 Exam Pattern consists of three stages:

Stage 1. Online Objective Test + Descriptive Test

Part A

Domain Knowledge of the relevant stream - Objective - 40 Marks

Part B

  • Test of Reasoning - 20 Marks
  • Test of English Language - 20 Marks
  • Test of General Awareness - 20 Marks
  • Test of Numerical Ability & Computer - 20 Marks

Part C

Descriptive, Literacy, Test in English Language, Essay, precise and Comprehension - 30 Marks

Part A varies as per the stream in graduation/ post graduation while Part B and Part C are common for all.

Minimum qualifying marks in the written test – 60% for General & OBC and 50% for SC /ST.

Stage 2. Group Discussion and Interview

After qualifying stage - 1, candidates are invited for group discussion and interview round.

  • Total marks - 200
