Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
- A candidate must be either:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, to permanently settle in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from certain countries with the intention to permanently settle in India.
- Candidates from categories (b), ©, (d), and (e) must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Age Limit
- The age limit for candidates is 20 to 25 years as of the crucial date specified in the notification.
- Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University
- For Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, male candidates must have a valid driving license for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) at the time of Physical Endurance and Measurement Test.
Physical Standards
- Candidates must meet certain physical standards which include minimum height and chest measurements, with relaxations for candidates belonging to certain regions.
Physical Endurance Test (PET)
- This includes various physical activities like running, long jump, and high jump, with different criteria for male and female candidates.
Medical Standard
- Candidates must also meet certain medical standards which include vision requirements, among others.
Departmental Candidates
- Departmental candidates amongst Constables, Head Constables, and Assistant Sub-Inspectors of Delhi Police with a minimum of three years’ service, who shall not be more than 30 years of age (33 years for OBC and 35 years for SC/ST) as on the crucial date, may also apply

Tier 1:
Tier 1 is a General Aptitude Test comprising four sections:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: Topics include verbal reasoning, syllogism, circular seating arrangement, linear seating arrangement, double lineup, scheduling, input-output, blood relations, directions and distances, ordering and ranking, data sufficiency, coding-decoding, and code inequalities.
- General Knowledge and Awareness: This section covers current events, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific research.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Includes number series, simplification, average, percentage, ratio and proportion, interest, profit and loss, time and distance, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and mensuration.
- English Comprehension: Candidates will be tested on their understanding of English language and grammar, vocabulary, spelling, synonyms and antonyms, comprehension, sentence structure, and correct usage.
Tier 2:
Tier 2 focuses exclusively on the English Language & Comprehension:
- Error Recognition: Identifying grammatical structure and usage.
- Fill in the Blanks: Using verbs, prepositions, articles, etc.
- Vocabulary: Synonyms, antonyms, and their correct usage.
- Spellings: Correct and incorrect usages.
- Grammar: Sentence structure, sentence completion, phrases, and idiomatic use of words.
- Comprehension: Understanding and comprehension of the English language.
- Writing Ability: Testing the candidate’s ability to write and understand the language correctly and effectively.
