How to apply?
- Fill the UPSC CSE application form online on the official website.
- Pay the application fee online through various modes like debit/credit card, net banking, or offline through SBI Challan.
- Review the application form for any errors and submit it.
- Keep a printout of the application form for future reference.
Application fee: 125 INR (UR/OBC/EWS), 65 INR (SC/ST)
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India.
- UPSSC Age Limit:
- Minimum age - 21 years
- Maximum age - 40 Years
- Based on categories, there is age relaxation as well.
- UPSSC PCS Education: Candidate must be a graduate in any stream.
- No limitation for attempts till maximum age limit.

- Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
- General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity, and Climate Change

- Candidates need to select two optional subjects from a list provided by the UPPSC. Optional subjects include a wide range of disciplines such as History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Public Administration, Economics, etc.
Exam Pattern
As we mentioned earlier, this exam is conducted in 3 stages:
Preliminary Exam: It consists of two papers, GS and Aptitude:
- GS [General Studies] (also called Paper 1) : It is conducted for 200 marks and has 150 questions in it.
- Aptitude (also called Paper 2) : Candidates need to score 33%.
- Merit will be prepared on the basis of Paper-1 while Paper is just qualifying. The exam shall be of 2 hours for each paper.
Mains Exam:
- Consist of 8 papers including subjects like Hindi, Essay, and GS.
- Each paper is for 3 hours.
- There are two papers for each optional.
- Exam is conducted for 1500 marks.
- Subjects like Hindi and Essay carry 150 marks each while all GS papers carry 200 marks each.
Personality Test:
- It is the personal interview of the candidate who qualified previous 2 stages.
- It is of 100 marks.
